So, it’s that time of year yet again. It seems to come around quicker every time or maybe I’m just increasingly busy these days. I’m leaving London tonight to head home for Christmas in the North West. I’m looking forward to a relaxing Christmas after such a busy year of travel. It’s been a great year, I’ve been to Edinburgh for the first time, I went back to Brazil, went on a work trip to New York, a press trip to Portugal, Sweden, Tenerife and South Korea (for the F1) and a short city break to Paris with my girlfriend.
I’ve also met some great travel people this year and made more of an effort to get to know the travel bloggers out there. It’s a great community and one that’s seemingly continuously expanding. It’ll be interesting to see what developments will happen online and in the blogging world in the next few years.
It’s been a impressive end to the year for TravMonkey.com with a new re-design and increasingly positive stats too. Most importantly we have some great contributing writers that are show casing their travel writing. Next year we’ll be looking to give the best possible exposure for these travel writers. I’m very excited to see what 2012 has in store for TravMonkey.com. I’d like to thank all those that have contributed this year there’s been some great travel writing and inspirational stories.
On a personal level, after the short Christmas break I’m starting the year as I mean to go on – with a New Years trip to Brussels. I’ll no doubt be sampling the fine Belgium chocolates and also the great beer on offer. I’ve been told that Delirium (pictured above) is the place to go for sampling the beer in Brussels, according to an entry on our 150 things to do before you die community list.
“43 Drink at least 50 from 2000+ beers available at Delirium pub in Brussels Belgium (@25travels)”
I’m also planning a side trip to Burge while I’m there. If you have any tips or recommendations in Brussels just leave a comment.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas and a superb 2012, see you in the new year.
