I’ve only just got back from beautiful inspiring Bali (I’ve even got a slight tan!). We spent 14 days wandering up the east coast, then to the south and finally stopping in beautiful Ubud.
Although I did have a spot of illness on the trip I still managed to get out and about, venturing around temples, rice paddy fields, beaches, markets and rugged coast lines.
I managed to capture a large number of boastful #holidaybraggie’s in Bali whilst testing out the Sony Xperia Z2 and its superb camera.
Feeling At Home In Bali
I was also testing out Three’s Feel At Home tariff that allows you to use your texts, calls and data just like you would at home in a growing list of countries (one of which is Indonesia). It meant I could upload instagrams, tweet and check in on the go without being tied to the hotel’s WiFi and not having to worry about getting home to a huge mobile bill.
I’ve been so impressed with the cost and speed of Three’s Pay As You Go sim that I’ve moved my number over. I was previously on a monthly contract with Vodafone but became really frustrated with extra data charges at home an some big bills abroad. I left and ported my number to Giff Gaff who were actually pretty good but don’t currently offer 4g on Pay As You Go or rival the Feel At Home element either.
Having a data connection when travelling around meant a lot less hassle, I wouldn’t have to upload everything in hurry at once when back at the hotel. Here’s a selection of my favourite braggies that I snapped exploring Bali.
My beautiful breakfast bruschetta at Alila Manggis, just one of a number of breakfast options available.
Admiring the rugged coast line at Candidasa.
A shameless #selfie at White Sand Beach north of Candidasa.
The stunning swimming pool at Alila Ubud. We were lucky enough to have dinner beside the pool in the evening whilst watching “Eat, Pray, Love” on a big screen at the end of the pool.
Pura Tirta Empul Temple is a Hindu temple in the middle of Bali. It’s particularly famous for it’s purifying Holy Water.
I wish we’d had more time to explore Bali as there is so much to try and fit into a short visit but we covered a lot of ground and really enjoyed our time on the island.
Have you been before? Where did you go and what was your favourite place?
