Singapore is well known for the quality of its tailoring and in the Orchard Road area there are numerous tailors who will make a made to measure suit for the same price as a cheap one back home. Many will come to your hotel for fittings and delivery, making the purchase process speedy and efficient.
4. Night Safari
This wildlife park has been built specifically to house nocturnal animals, and is an unusual and interesting night out. Active types can walk around the safari route, but the easier option is to take the tram which will take you around the main sights in the zoo.
5. Little India
Singapore has long been home to a large Indian community, and it is a popular place for shopping, especially for gold, jewellery and unusual souvenirs. It is also home to many restaurants serving authentic Indian cuisine.
6. Botanic Garden
The Singapore Botanic Gardens are among the best in the world and are home to a huge variety of tropical plants and trees. Entrance to the Gardens are free, with fees only applying should you wish to visit the orchid house.
7. National Museum of Singapore
This is the place to go if you want to learn more about the history of Singapore and the people who live there. It’s the ideal visit for an afternoon when the weather isn’t so good and audio guides are available to explain more about the exhibits in the museum.
