Surprise!
It’s Friday morning, I’ve just been sipping a strong black coffee in an attempt to wake myself up when I got the news that I’m off exploring sunny (hopefully!) Brighton this weekend!
I’m leaving work this evening (Friday 3rd July) and hopping on the train to the South coast to complete a number of intriguing challenges not to mention winging it and booking accommodation as I go!
It’s my favourite way of traveling! No plans!
Back in 2006 I left the UK to travel for a few years, at the time I’d make travel plans as I went, booking accommodation the night before arriving or on the same day. It was pretty effective and useful when you really don’t know quite where you’re going to be and how long for, so when I was challenged to “wing it” by Time Out and Booking.com I knew it was going to be my cup of tea!

I also did exactly this two years ago on a trip to South Africa, we had our first couple of nights booked but nothing else. It’s a great way to travel. We actually used Booking.com at the time to book the accomodation on the same day or the night before, it worked out perfectly for our trip down the Garden Route.
This time around I’ve opted to use their slick iOS app, Booking Now where you can only book 48 hours before, perfect for those keeping their options open!
I’ll be checking in on my Google map, instagramming, tweeting and maybe even a cheeky Periscope! So stay tuned!
Looking forward to a super spontaneous weekend, come along for the ride!
